Description
The TGreen Blue Light Transilluminator provides a safe and convenient solution for gel visualization, gel excision, and DNA recovery. Using 470 nm blue LED illumination, it delivers clear band visualization while avoiding the DNA damage commonly associated with UV transilluminators.
Compatible with ethidium bromide (EB) as well as popular safe DNA stains including GeneGreen, GelRed, GelGreen, SYBR Green, and SYBR Safe, the system supports routine nucleic acid analysis and gel extraction workflows in molecular biology laboratories.
The integrated amber filter allows gels to be viewed and excised under normal laboratory lighting conditions without the need for a darkroom. Dual-sided LED illumination provides more uniform excitation across the gel surface, helping improve band visibility and cutting accuracy.
In addition to nucleic acid gels, the TGreen Transilluminator can also be used for observing GFP, FITC, Cy2, and other fluorescent markers, making it a versatile tool for fluorescence-based research applications.

Why Laboratories Choose TGreen
High Sensitivity Detection
Detect as little as 0.5 ng of dsDNA (1000 bp) when used with compatible fluorescent stains, enabling reliable visualization of low-abundance samples.
Broad Dye Compatibility
Compatible with EB, GeneGreen, GelRed, GelGreen, SYBR Green, SYBR Safe, SYBR Gold, GoldView, FITC, GFP, Cy2, and other commonly used fluorescent dyes and markers.
Uniform Illumination for Clearer Results
Dual-sided LED illumination provides uniform excitation across the viewing area, improving band visibility and supporting more accurate gel excision.
Built for Long-Term Reliability
Long-life LEDs rated for up to 50,000 hours and enhanced liquid-resistant protection help ensure reliable performance in daily laboratory environments.
Easy and Convenient Operation
The integrated amber filter enables comfortable gel observation and cutting under normal laboratory lighting conditions, simplifying routine electrophoresis workflows.

FAQ
Why use a blue light transilluminator instead of a UV transilluminator?
Blue light helps reduce nucleic acid damage during gel observation and gel extraction, improving DNA recovery quality for downstream applications.
Which stains are compatible with the TGreen Transilluminator?
The system supports EB, GeneGreen, GelRed, GelGreen, SYBR Green, SYBR Safe, SYBR Gold, GoldView, GFP, FITC, Cy2, and many other fluorescent dyes and markers.
What is the difference between OSE-470 and OSE-470L?
Both models provide the same 470 nm blue LED illumination and sensitivity. The OSE-470L offers a larger viewing area and adjustable light intensity for larger gels and more flexible operation.
Can the TGreen Transilluminator be used for GFP observation?
Yes. In addition to nucleic acid gel visualization, the system can be used for observing GFP and other fluorescent markers in research and laboratory applications.
What are the benefits of the optional Gel Cutter?
The Gel Cutter simplifies gel excision and sample transfer, helping reduce sample loss, improve cutting precision, and increase DNA recovery efficiency, especially when working with soft or fragile gels.
